About the Photographer

Hi, I’m Taylor! (she/her)

So, if you ask me, my love for immortalizing moments and storytelling is an inherited trait.
— Taylor Tolbert

I’m the human behind Ttolbphotog.

My love for photo’s started in my grandmother’s sewing room. She had tons of containers stuffed to the brim with old photographs. We would sort through 100’s at a time and she would tell me stories about each one— who was who, when and where they were taken, how we were related, and why they mattered to us. I was and still am obsessed. To be able to take a memory and make it tangible?! It’s like magic or time traveling. Maybe a bit of both.

Photography is such integral part of who I am, it’s one of the ways my soul likes to express itself —and now I get the opportunity to share and do that for others.

My style is more of an active observer. I want to be present and at the same time invisible. I look for multiple perspectives that help tell the overall story for the day. I do not want to interrupt too much with the natural flow of things, but offer direction when needed. For people who want to live in the moment and also preserve it for future generations to come.

core values & Beliefs

I am striving to create a safe space for everyone who steps in front of my camera

I educate myself about on-going social justice and environmental news & issues

I will not photoshop you “skinny” - hating ourselves is exhausting and it’s my goal to capture you in your best light

All bodies are art and worthy of being documented authentically and honestly, just as they are no matter what anyone says

Please don’t apologize for your face, body hair, stretch marks, cellulite or anything else society is trying to push on us

Remember, this is a safe space to be and express yourself as you see fit

You are loved, you are seen, and you are so so special. Please don’t hesitate to tell me how I can help co-create this space with you.
