“My love for storytelling is an inherited trait.”

HOW TAYLOR BECAME A PHOTOGRAPHER:
My love for storytelling is an inherited trait. It all started in my Grannys sewing room. She had tons of plastic containers stuffed to the brim with old photographs. We would sort through 100’s at a time and she would tell me stories about each one— who was who, when and where they were taken, how we were related, and why they mattered to us. I was, and still am, obsessed. To be able to take a memory and make it tangible?! People long past, places I’d never been, still connected to us. It’s like magic or time traveling. Maybe a bit of both.
Looking at all those old photographs really shaped how I shoot today- I want to be present and at the same time invisible. I imagine myself like a guest noticing and experiencing things in real time and capturing what catches my eye.
Back then they weren’t thinking about how the photo would look to others on a social media feed. They were just living in the moment and enjoying the time they had together and then eventually they’d get the film developed and put it in a photo book or a plastic bin for the archives.
So now, when I’m taking photos I like to imagine years from now who will be looking at these photos? Will they be able to feel the moment as it really was? Keeping this in mind especially on wedding days and such I do not like to interrupt too much with the natural flow of things, but of course still offer direction when needed.
Photography is such integral part of who I am, it’s one of the ways my soul likes to express itself —and now I get the opportunity to share and do that for others. So if you are someone who want to live in the moment and also preserve it for future generations to come, Let’s create together!
ABOUT TTOLBPHOTOG & WHAT SETS US APART
My style of imagery is photojournalistic, candid and nostalgic. My intention is to capture people being fully present in the "now" and welcoming any feelings or emotions that may arise. There is no right or wrong way to get married or right or wrong way to feel, there just is and thats good enough. Whether we are capturing your wedding/elopement or your engagement photos we always encourage to leave space to invite in curiosity, play, and creativity. When you create with us, ditch the photo shot list and instead live in the moment, and we will do the rest. <3
What sets us apart is our intention. Which on wedding days is to be an active observer, capturing the ebbs and flows however the energy shows up. Weddings are about celebrating your love & being present experiencing that love together- not constantly looking at the photographer to tell you how to feel or what comes next. I love documenting humans living in real life moments. It's what makes this career so freakin' special to me. No weird expectations of how your day should look, be, feel. When you trust us to capture your day candidly- we commit to creating a safe environment for all to show up as themselves, whatever that means for you.
