Cait + Jules Creative Couples Portraits
Jules and Cait are two of the sweetest and kindest people I have met since moving to Chicago IL.
They love to spend quiet time together at a cemetery close to their house so we chose to include this in their couples photoshoot. Meaningful locations can bring a sense of familiarity and safety to your session and help you relax in the present moment and be yourself.
We spent the first half of the session giggling and walking around the cemetery grounds looking for places and monuments that stuck out to them. I love including the couples when choosing some of the backdrop/scenery at a location as a way to include them in the creation process. The Link monument was one of our favorites of the day and the two cement crypt statue pillars mirror the couple in a way that it hauntingly beautiful.
They shared a cigarette and gratitude to the spirits of the grounds and we were off to the second location: Montrose Bird Sanctuary. This location is one of my favorite natures spots in the city besides the Alfred Caldwell Lilly Pool in Lincoln Park. They changed outfits and we enjoyed the lake front, city skyline, boat dock views and forest scenery. The Bird Sanctuary has much to offer and I highly recommend Montrose Bird Sanctuary/Montrose Beach for portraits of any kind or to just hang out if you want to experience a little bit of everything Chicago has to offer.
